Food and
clothing
The Centre relies
on the generosity of well wishers. Availability of food is a daily miracle.
There is almost always no guarantee that the next meal will be available. The
Director, Salome Muturi, is however always confident that God will provide - and
He has never let the Centre down!
Residential Needs
The Centre is
currently hosted in a rented place. Apart from congestion and poor ventilation,
the current premises are inappropriate for the children. Salome and the
management of By Grace Orphanage have identified the need to establish a
permanent building of residence. As the children mature, the Centre plans to
equip them with apprentice skills so as to make them self-reliant adults. When
the necessary building is acquired, the Centre hopes to establish vocational
training, e.g. computer courses, carpentry workshops, poultry farms,
horticulture, etc. These ventures will not only benefit the Centre in an
immediate sense, they will also impart technical skills to the children.
Estimated costs of this need is 5 million Kenya shillings (approximately $75,000
USD).
How you can help
There are many
ways in which to bless the children of By Grace Centre. In doing so, you will
embark upon a journey of having a positive impact on the lives of Kenya’s
future, its children.
Become a
Donor
You can make a donation to the Centre. You can make a donation of any amount and
specify how you would like it used: to purchase land, to feed or clothe the
children, or to pay stipends to the volunteer teachers and other educational
needs.
Volunteer in Kenya
You can visit the
Centre and volunteer your services, e.g. counseling, teaching, coaching, etc.
Prayer
You can PRAY for the Centre. Pray to God that the children at the Centre will
have food to eat, clothes to wear, a place to sleep, good teachers, etc.
